How do you split driving time between cars?
easy... we take the mini in the city and the jetta for all long trips. the jetta is practical, has good airconditioning, and is comfortable. These qualities the mini does not have. The mini is easy to park in tight spaces, the jetta has horrible blind spots front and rear so is terrible in the city.

I have 2 cars...the 07 MCS and a 07 toyota FJ cruiser. The FJ gets used when I need to haul the dogs, go to the barn, or just feel the need to run over something. The rest of the time, it's all about the MINI!

Some days it is really hard to decide! Like several other folks we have too many cars. Three in good running condition - 02 MCS, 04 PT Cruiser TurboLite, 93 Chevy conversion van. We also have one 72 Opel GT runs okay - one 95 Chevy Astro van that goes forward but has no reverse - one 72 Opel GT not running - and one 86 Nissan Kingcab pickup not running. Oh and here in Wisconsin I think the two riding lawn tractor/snow blower tractors count too! The icing on the cake is my husband and I are each full time artists and our studios are here at home. We don't even commute!!
Conversion van goes to the 17-18 art shows we do around the country. It gets the most miles by far.
PT Cruiser was purchased this February when the tranny went on my Astro. It is for rainy, snowy days, trips to the store, going out dancing at night and such activities. It is a great looking (since I bought the hand painted hood on eBay for it), comfortable car and a really nice highway driver - thus they call it a cruiser. My husband uses this car for errands, he loves it. I don't let him drive my MCS.
My MCS is all about having fun! Now that the weather is better I find I am not really driving the PT much. It's amazing how many groceries you can stuff into a MINI! DS is also much easier to keep looking good than my black PT. What was I thinking when I bought a black car to drive in the winter!?!
The Opel GTs are my husband's fun cars. He's been working on one so he can use it for summer errands. Like the person from LasVegas said - who needs air conditioning! He'll eventually get around to working on the one other too.
Both tractors are his rides!

In a former life, I used to have a 2003 Benz C320 4matic, a 2003 C230 Coupe, a 2005 Infiniti QX54, a 2005 M35x, and a 2004 MCS. Sometimes, it was just easier not to go anywhere than to decide what to take, especially if it was a more than 1 day trip. Now, I have no such problem.
I drive the MINI most of the time and I sometimes drive the old 91' Nissan Pickup to save miles on the MINI. My wife drives the 05' Chevy Cobalt.

I drive the MINI and my wife drives the Saab 9-5 Aero. Every now and then I have a reason to take the Aero on the commute. I wouldn't want it every day but I am never sorry to have it on the occasional drive.
On trips we usually take the MINI but take the Aero if there is something to carry . . . like the child. I find a way to have fun with it. The additional comfort makes up for the loss of fun. . . I'd take the fun with a free choice, but when practicality prevails, I'm okay with it.

My '07 MCS is 6 weeks old and gets driven when weather is great (no rain or snow in forecast). However I'd like to keep miles on her low, so I drive my Jeep whenever I have enough willpower to resist the MINI for a day, when the weather's threatening, when I have my dogs or big things to transport.
We have two vehicles.
2006 Lexus IS250 and Romi.
The Wife unit commands the Lexus for her forays to and from her compensated livelihood.
Romi and I head to my place of employment Monday though Friday.
All other times where 2, or less people will be traveling, Romi handles the chore. I find myself making up reasons to get in Romi and motor about. Even so, I am only managing to average about 900 miles per month in Romi.
The Wife unit compiles approximately 1500 miles per month in the Lexus.

I drive my Mini 6 months (Apr-Sept). My BMW 330i for 10 months and Honda CRV full year round. It's a toss between the 330 and Mini although I must say that I get more attention in the Mini.
The MINI is my daily driver and she gets driven about 1000 miles a month. I take the Forrester when I need to haul stuff, there is snow or ice, rain in the forecast if I've just washed the MINI, or when more than one other person needs to ride with me.
I car pool with my wife in her car two days a week, so the remaining three days are evenly split between the '04 MINI, '91 Miata, and the '05 Elise. People are amazed (especially in SUV clogged Houston) when I tell them the MINI is the biggest car I own.
I'm supposed to drive my wife's 9-3 occasionally (she's a grad student and the university's very close) but I find lots of excuses to drive my MINI instead. We're coming up on two years for the Saab and it's at 12,600. The MINI, it'll be two years in October, has 16,000.
I think I'll have to drive her car tomorrow, though. :(
