Over the decades, I never once heard the MINI described as a girly car. Rather, I heard the MINI described as a young person's car. I'm a 57 year-old semi-retired lawyer. I owned several MGBs and MG Midgets in my twenties, so I find the size and sportiness of the MINI exceptionally appealing. I'm not overly concerned with people's opinions on age appropriateness, but I am curious about age demographics. For instance, are certain age groups more often associated with particular MINI models than others? Do older guys like me purchase the MINI Convertible or Roadster, or do they generally buy more conservative models like the MINI Clubman? Mind you, I will buy whatever model suits my interests. I am simply curious.
I'm a Florida fossil living in central FL just outside the largest retirement community in the country. MINI ownership here seems to be all over the board. But if I had to guess, I would say the hardtop S is a bit more popular here than the other models.
I went with the R56S to give me an edge in getting around the generally slower moving snowbird traffic. My S2000 is great for that sort of thing, but it's becoming progressively more difficult to climb in and out. (I think the car is shrinking, and I'm still young and spry as ever.)
In addition, I have a shattered left leg that's been cobbled back together, which makes using a clutch difficult, so I opted for something with an AT this time. I think this'll be my first AT in about fifty years.

I'm a girl and I like cars that have power, speed, and spirit... you know, the girly stuff. Apparently boys like that kind of thing too. So what? *shrug*
