A Massacre (warning 56k)

I drive from Melbourne to Vero Beach every weekend. For those of you who don't know it only 40mi. When I got to Vero this weekend, the front of my car was covered in Love Bugs . I do not have any pictures of the before because all I was thinking about was getting those things off my car. They act like gule. As you can see in the pictures, all of the little black dots every where are love bugs.

Sorry for the big pictures but that is the only way to see the number of little devils.

I can't stand it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its just so much work to get them off. Speaking of which, does any one know of something I can apply to my car to make it easier to remove them?

Have you tried Hydro from Dealers Paradise? Water sheets off it pretty well; I wonder how it would handle bug guts???

BTW, I have a brother that lives in Vero Beach and drives to Melbourne every day. He drives a 2005 Honda Civic Hybid... I doubt if he has the same problem; the Civic is a little more aerodynamic...

I have a hugh bug problem with my Mini also. At first, I thought they believed that my Liquid Yellow Mini was a BIG sunflower...now I know for a fact...Bugs everywhere are just picky on how they are going to commit suicide and choose Minis as their last resting place! What a way to go!

The bug remover made by MINI works very well for getting bugs off the paint. You can get it at the dealer. The important thing with love bugs is to get them off the car every day. If you let them stay on the paint, acid in the bug guts will pit your paint and it will not be repairable.
