Is there a way to see the NAM league only? I was just surfing around the picksix site and there is nothing that I see there that makes me think I'm in a particular league....

Yes, but I think you'll only see your name on the "NAM F1 Challenge" list if the Commish read your email and added you to our list.....and it looks like he may have overlooked your email.....

When it works, it's as easy as this:
From the PickSix home page click on "F1"
You should be taken to a list of races - click on any of the "open" events
If you've been registered by the Commish as one of us, this will take you to our list and you'll see your name there
I just did this and the list includes folks carried over from last season and a few new names (as of 2:20 pm EST):
adame
blalor
CutnThrust
DrDiff
garyp
Grumpy
kurvhugr
Letsmotor
mgcman
Rollin
Sabre
SashaSolitaire
ScottinBend
If you want in but you don't see your name above, please try sending another email reminding the Commish that you want to be registered and on the "Nam F1 Challenge" list. Tell him I said you're still not showing up on our list. If that doesn't work let me know and I'll email him as well.

I sent the Little Commish an email earlier today about adding you to our list - looks like it worked. I also sent him a bunch of updates for his drivers lists and he wrote back that he's working on that "right now."

Sabre - I see he just added Hamilton to the drivers drop-down menu; you should go back in and put Hamilton where you wanted him in the first place.

Since the rules have been revised for picking prior to qualifying, I'm in as bee1000.

Is that true . . . the picks have to be in prior Quali?

Hmm. Where's the Amazing Kreskin when you need him?

I just checked and the cutoff is 10 PM EST . . . Saturday Night . . . which would be just prior the Grand Prix Aussie time? Melbourne must be 16 hours ahead?

My bad - Kurvhugr was referring to a different site's rules. I am in favor of making all picks due prior to qualifying.

You can pick prior to qualifying if you want to.....

You're right, I was trying to cover some of the differences between PickSix and another suggested site. Let me know if you still want in on the PickSix thing.

Gee, thanks!

If one picks early, is one allowed to change one's picks after, say, the driver they picked to win inadvertently and accidentally and completely innocently parked his car in the middle of the track at, say for example, Monte Carlo and the stewards saw fit to punish such an innocent, accidental action by making said driver start the race from Cannes rather than from pole position?

There, you see, that's a perfect example of why we should be able to pick right up until the race! Why should one of us innocent bystanders have to suffer a loss of points when one of our drivers is so harshly and unjustifiably penalized for such an innocent and accidental occurrance?

To tell the truth, given that PickSix is not the sort of fantasy league where all elements of the team process are important, I think we should be able to wait until all the dust is settled and it's simply a matter of picking winners based on the actual starting circumstances. Just one man's opinion...

Hey I was on the original list but now I'm missing. My picks are in but it looks like I need to send a message to the commish.

Is there any interest in playing on http://stratos.motorsport.com/compete/p6/index.asp?S=F1

I'm doing both if I can ever find a way to see the group.

But just imagine the results if everyone picks after qualifying. On some circuits were passing is more than difficult it makes getting the driver's in scoring position too easy. You're still not penalized because you can change until they start practice. Very rarely has someone been denied driving after the start for Friday practice.

Hmmm, did you use your NAM username for PickSix? Figured I better check before I send another email to the Commish asking about IOmini punkin.

I think you'll be surprised at how rarely anyone gets that close. It's all relative though. When everyone has the option of picking based on race weekend pre-race events, no one has an unfair advantage. Using PickSix history as a guide I can say that when the race is over and the points are tallied you'll always see a points spread. The fact that getting 6th position right (and 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd) is worth just as many points as correctly picking the winner is part of the challenge...and fun!

Remember, you're gonna pick folks that don't even finish the race...I think in some races last year I picked 3 or 4 of those and I still finished 2nd in our league and something like 10th overall. In some races the guy you overlook because he was sent to the back of the grid will bump one of your top six picks...

Like I said, this is all about opinion and preference. You may like it - you may not - but stick with it for a few races and then tell us what you think.
--------------------------
By the way, you're back on the NAM list now.

Anyone else suffering from pre-season insomnia?

I feel the need, the need for speed!!!!!

March Madness and the Grand Prix season all at once, system overload.

I'm on the edge of my seat! My machine is already set to record, just in case.

I expect surprises both in qualifying and during the race, and that's what makes a good season starter for me!

Jim (CutnThrust) - I added TresRay to the list (post 1) - I'm sure we'll get her on the PickSix NAM list soon...just gotta figure out how.
