Another class question

I know this has probably been beaten to death, but I am going to my first autocross in two weeks and I am trying to figure out which class I will be in.

I have a 2005 Copper S and my only mod is an adjustable RSpeed rear sway bar. So, I can't run GS right? What class should I be in?

Nope, you cannot run in G-stock with the sway bar.

Take it off for the day and run in G-stock

WAY too much work to take it off for the day. What class would/could I run with it on?

Show up, tell them what you have & they will tell you. Being your first time, having a sway-bar will throw you in a class with people that have modded their cars to most everything allowable to that class. So what. They can't run over you because you are only racing against yourself. Go have fun !

STX....Take the bar off. If all you plan on doing is the bar you are better off in stock class.

If this is truley your first time. Than you would be Novice regardless of the swaybar. You can run in Novice the first year.

The problem is, I have to pre-register my number for my class before I show up. I am not looking to be competitive, I just want to have fun and not be in the wrong class.

It seems that the novice classes still have to preregister a class :
http://www.rmsolo.org/SEASON_NOV.TXT?1

So if I understand correctly, I should be in STX with my bar?

Thanks
Bob

Yes Bob

The correct class for the S with your mod would be STX. I still say the correct class for you would be Novice. It's your call, regardless of which class you will have fun.

Different groups handle novice classes differently, so it may indeed be the fact that you should sign up for "STX Novice" or something, rather than just "Novice". But it sounds like you've got it taken care of
