I own a new Cooper S and I live in California, I am talking with Dynan Motors, but I was also wondering if there were any other companies worth looking into for soupin up my mini to 200+ hp aite thanx cya

P.S> COOPER S IS THE BEST, If you don't got one yet, YOu soooo should it handles better than a porsche and with the supercharger after 2500 rpm it burns, however I know it can be tweaked to perform better, so I am trying to bring the 0-60 to about low five's.

Congrats on the new car! If you can, post some pics of your new baby in the "Members Minis" gallery.

As for soupin up S's..... not much going on just yet. There are a couple of places that have things in the works. First there's... MINI-Madness Also keep an eye on John Cooper Works the list goes on..... You can find most by doing a search within the forums area..... Also look through the list of News "Topics". There you will find some more good info.

I don't know how long you can wait, but Vortech Superchargers in Oxnard, CA wants to check out my MINI to see what they can make for MINI and where the heck they can squeeze it into the engine compartment. Design, testing, and production may take quite a while though. I'm just excited they've asked to check out my car!

I heard directly (via email) from John Cooper Works that they will be offering a high performance mod for S cars as a dealer installed option in 2003. I've heard (don't know how reliabole) that it should be in 200 hp range. JCW told me specs would be available sometime in September.

What do you think 200 would get us in terms of 0-60 ? Probably about 6.0 ?

 

My dealer claims that the upgrade is definite and will be available to any Cooper S owner for around US$4000. Whata even better is it will be 200+hp and fully covered by BMW/MINI warantee! I think I'll wait.
