See you there dandp. Second year for me. Great bunch of folks and well run events. You'll enjoy it. There usually are 3 or 4 MINIs that make each NASA-X. Now there will be 5.

Great - Think Warm

Can someone post a breakdown of regulation specs? I'm assuming the following:

Helmet
Number
Clean interior (no crap flying around)
Standard seatbelt or harness
"Tame" exhaust (not really sure what the sound requirements are)

Anything else?

A valid drivers license and $40 is all you need. They even have helmets if you need one. Nothing should be falling off of your car. Nothing you modded should be too dangerous or stupid. If it is we'll all help you remove it.

I signed up and will be there. Storer, bring clothes appropriate for the weather since you'll be spending a bunch of time working the course.

Sure enough, Dan was the only Cooper. We had 8 MINIs though! Here's some great pics from the event:

Why are this guys photographs so great (aside from the fact that he is a great photographer)?

His color depth is unreal!

Does anyone know what kind of hardware he is using?

All his shots are stored in BMP format. Is this a clue?

I really need to create stuff like this!

He is using a Canon EOS 10D digital camera. It's more a function of technological advancements in digital format and lens than file format. All his files are lower res JPEG's, the camera he is using is actually capable of capturing far more data in what they call the RAW format. I believe he was a using a medium range zoom / telephoto, with a mid range aperture, from what I saw. _________________

Here's the results. Damn, I did worse than I thought ... LOL:. Gives me plenty of room for improvement as the season progresses.

Andy, thanks for the link. Guess it was too late for me to think clearly last night to post that...

Check out the times on the BMW X5.....

I pretty much did as I expected to do....and plan on getting better (hopefully)

That's the best thing about placing low at the first event of the season ... plenty of room for improvement.

Here's an absolutely amazing shot of our own jlm, taken by another NAM regular:
