Boost fault code

Hi all,

I have a 2009 JCW Clubman and I've been getting a the orange engine light warning. Had my dealer look at it and it's the boost sensor fault code. It's happening at about 5,000 rpm. It's happened 3 times now.

Has anybody had a similar situation or know what could be the problem? I've had a software upgrade but it did not fix the issue.

Thanks.

Knowing the actual code might help.

You have a boost implausibility error.

My guess is that:

1.) You have leak somewhere in the boost pipes.

2.) Wastegate is not functioning properly. Check the vacuum hose attached to it.

3.) Diverter valve not functioning correctly.

Have you read this thread:

Thanks. I'll read the thread to see if I can figure it out. Seems like a process of elimination.... Until you find it.

I accidentally disconnected the vac hose between the wastegate and the vacuum box. That left the wastegate always open and therefore no boost My ecu did not throw a code though...only the half engine symbol.
