Next mod?

My Alta Accessport is on the way

What should my next mod be?

Helix IC
Catless DP

Or something else?

Thanks in advance!

The most common progression is to a larger FMIC after the stage 1 tune. The AP has a stage 1 + FMIC map. Do both and you can do Stage 2! :-)

FMIC.

When you up the boost, you need to get as much cooling as possible

If I do the Helix.....will I have issues with warranty work - or do they look past a better intercooler?

The Alta FMIC is just as good as the Helix, but you can get it in black so it doesn't show through the grill, if that makes any differance to you.

Go with the HELIX FMIC, they made it better in this version. Fit is perfect, no drama.

Will help with keeping the turbo lag down because of better cooling and flow.

Should not be any warranty issues with a larger FMIC, YMMV, ask your dealer service manager if they like that mod, my dealer installed mine for me.

Keep your DP stock unless your in a state that allows for a catless DP, your dealer will take exception to the catless DP, your records will probably get flagged as excessively modded. My statement = your warranty is probably a piece of paper. :(

Just my input, every dealer and manager at the dealerships are a bit different.

I will put in a tune when I get it in Monday - then decide to do more or not

If the catless DP will cause warranty issues - I will be done at a tune / IC

If you still have mod money and the bug to mod.

Get a DOS intake (Defenders of Speed), get the baffle you want to control the intake noise, it is good for 1-5 HP, looks and build are excellent.

Open up your exhaust to 2 1/2 or 2 3/4 custom piping, get an open resonator to keep down drone, hang the MINI JCW muffler on the end.

Or run without the resonator or have the option to put it in/out with proper flanges for ease. That is how my 07 exhaust is setup. I do not have a 2nd cat.

Then you should be able to run the Stage 2 (possibly play with the Stage 3) tune with the FMIC, open exhaust and if you have 93 octane you will make good performance.

The above is me just talking out-loud.

So if I improve the exhaust - do a IC - then I can run the better maps - without a catless DP?

Is there an out of the box exhaust that is better?

Go with the Helix Step Core FMIC.
With only a drop in K&N panel filter, Helix FMIC, IC Muffler delete pipe and RMW tune, I dyno'd at 236.7 whp. All i can say is... unbelievable!

Exhausts are all over the place, best quality and sound I have seen and heard is the NM exhaust or that really expensive Adroponvik (sp), visit Way Motor Works Website and look around.

I played with exhaust on the 07, that is why I pretty much built mine as I like it.

If I was to do another exhaust, I would go NM, quality and price.

Don

As for the tune with AP, if your go above the Stage 2 without a cat-less DP, you are playing but I think it will work out, that is an opinion, the folks who put out the AP will say not to do it.
