Recaro Rear Seats

For those of you wondering about what the rear seats look like in the R56 if you get the Recaros here are some pictures I took!

I personally am going with the lounge leather. My hips are kind wide, and they just feel more comfortable to me.

The fronts look more like "lounge" riders than the European JCW Recaro seats. It would be interesting to hear if they are more supportive in corners than the sport seats.

Nice to see they are doing the rear seats as well like they used to on the gen 1.

They are the same as the European factory fit Recaros which are different to the old style dealer fit option.

I have had a chance to drive a JCW with lounge seats and picked up a 2012 JCW last week with Recaro seats: the Recaro seats are much more supportive.

Nice...
The Recaro seat option became available after I ordered my 2012. I would have like to have gotten them. I had a set of the European Recaro JCW in my '07 and loved them.

I really want those seats! I'm wondering if they'll be better for a tall guy (I'm 6'3). It looks like the lower part of the front seats provide more thigh support, true?

I am also 6'3". There is definitely more though support on the sides, I've got beefy legs so they felt sort of uncomfortable.

Well if anyone wants some Championship Red Lounge Leather for a Clubman order up the Recaros and I'll trade in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know if these seats offer lumbar support?

Look at the price of lounge leather. It's really not much of a jump in price. If available i'd have ordered them on mine.

I've been hanging back on the Euro JCW Recaros (Sportster CS) until I had a chance to look at the new factory units.

Interestingly, the parts diagram at RealOEM suggests that the new "Recaro" seats are built on the same frame as the other factory seats; the difference is just the padding, covers and some plastic up top.

Currently no pricing/availability on "upgrade" parts.

--DrZ--- I tried it last week US recaros at Pleasanton Mini CA. I did not like it at all.. Yes it is the best you can get in America. But compare to my euro JCW recaro. no comparison..
What I did not like was the side Bolster is too soft. so when make a quick turn my body is flexing it.

I believe it is the same seats in audi S4, or euro Golf R. and many more. It is just a regular recaro sport seat. nothing special.

and for the track junkies.. does not have seat belt hole for 5 point seat harness.

I did the "butt test" at SF Mini yesterday. The upper on the new OEM Recaro is a definite improvement; the side bolsters don't come up so far and there is plenty more shoulder room.

However, the base is, if anything, even narrower and less comfortable than the sport seats that I already have. Dammit. So I guess I have no real option other than ordering from the Danes. Did you have any trouble with them?

btw, the new OE Recaro isn't the same as in other cars; it may be styled similarly, etc. but if you look at the TIS (via e.g. RealOEM) you'll see that it's just a padding + cover set built on the same frame as the sport seats.
