October 2012 order-ers, anybody make it past "on order"?

GGggrggrgggrggggRRR

ok, just a breath of frustration there. After getting sandbagged by one dealer and wasting a month, my order went in on 10-4 in the northeast for a full spec JCW cab. It's just sitting there!

A call to askl-mini says "scheduled for production but no exact date" or some other such hooey. Anybody else in the same boat?

At this rate, I'm not going to see the car until the new year when I am buried in snow.

I put a deposit down July 1st, and I have heard nothing from Mini. I've e-mailed my dealer every month, and am simply told "no word on production yet- we'll let you know"

I just got word that my JCW hatch will go into production week of Nov 7th. My MA seems to think i'll have it by the end of Nov...i find that to be VERY quick compared to when i ordered my original S in 07...but hey...i wont argue if it does come faster lol

I'm with you too Sticky. I had one of the first 2002 S'es ordered in CT, I even got the odometer shirt "000000010" or something like that. I got the full mini unveiling with the giant zippered car cover and everything. Nothing like putting 10K down on a car you've never even seen in person or driven (back late '01)!

That said, that was much more nerve wracking, but this is getting to me me too.

Ordered mine on the second or third of October. Owners lounge still says on order, but I called today and was told my car was in production and would be finished on the second.

You have to be patient. I put down a deposit in August, was told Nov production. Then date was moved up to October but still no production number. Then today I got notified my JCW hatch has started production. Should arrive before Xmas and before my current lease ends.

My dealer (Universal Mini in N. Hollywood) doesn't have an allocation for a JCW hardtop, I want to order one but he said I would have to wait for an allocation.

@Quality Sound - LOVE the black and red, inside and out. Awesome! Makes me wish I had done that. Think I would have done black wheels though, but yours look great too.

Thanks! I didn't do the black wheels because I didn't think it would look right on EG with the only other back being the bonnet stripes. But that was also before the configurator was updated. Now I could go either way but I'm probably going to turn them into winter wheels and do some lightweight 18s for the summer. I'm kind of all over the place.

Yeah, I had to max out the JCW-only options. It only made sense, I think. The loaner S I have now has the leatherette sport seats and the silver trim and the red absolutely blows it away. It really is quite stunning. People have been trying to get in it the entire time it's been on the showroom floor but my MA was nice enough to lock it.

how'd you get a loaner? wish my dealer would give me one til my new car arrives. I sold my Honda when I ordered the Clubbie, and have been driving a variety of unpleasant borrowed cars since.

I just heard from my MA that my JCW hatch went into production today!!! So its looking like that end of Nov date is pretty realistic.

I agree - the stock silver trim is just OK. The piano black that I have now is decent, but the chili red interior is pretty cool - which is why I ordered it too. I liked the challenge seats but really couldn't justify the price. When the time comes I would rather get the JCW suspension over leather seats or Navi. Now if the Challenge seats were perforated and air-conditioned.... hmmmmmmmmmm.

Honestly, if the Recaros were a factory option they'd be in there but the real reason I went with the Lounge was I'm pretty over cloth seats and I thought the Lounge leather matched the Recaros better since I WILL add them.

Sounds like a good reason... Recaros look great but don't have side airbags correct?

It's a perk that one of the military sales dealers over here used to do but I was able to sweet talk my MA into hooking me up.

They have the airbags but but not the pass. side pressure sensor for the seat. I'm tempted to see if I can retrofit one from a junkyard seat.

Yay! Mine went into production today (I nearly jumped out of my skin) and is est complete by Nov 10.

On an unfortunate note, it snowed a little last night and some is due later this weekend. The classic mini with Z rated 45 series tires is not going to like that.
