I was playing around building a JCW Clubman, and I have to say the red roof does not do it for me. After picking some colors, I ended up with what looked like a car fit for a clown but not really for me. It also looked like a police magnet! I wish they would have invested what ever money they are spending (looks like not much) on this refresh on making the car faster and better handling. I would have loved allwheel drive and a standard sport suspension, and they can keep the red top and dark headlight shades. Seriously what are they thinking? A stealth mini would have been so much better. I don't know. I was thinking of picking up a jcw clubman this year 09 or 10 but now I might just wait for 2012 golf R or? Any other opinions?

 

Well, since I'm happy with my current custom ordered JCW, I kind of like some of the cosmetic variations offered this year. I like the black/red roof combo but think it will be relatively "common" at least within the JCW community. I think the new eclipse grey with a red roof would look kind of cool.

 

mtbscott: Me too, but I have mine ordered now. I like the Red accent color for exclusively the JCW. The JCW has needed something to separate itself from the rest of the Min Cooper line since it's inception. As for the VW's, well they've been talking about the GTI R20 now for two years. First it was suppose to be a 2010, the a 2011, now they're calling it a 2012? Kind of makes you wonder if it will ever come out. If it comes, it should be a nice unit, but it won't be any less than a JCW, and with it's all wheel drive, heavy. Guess that I just like the way a JCW or Mini S for that matter, drive.
