MSN UK longterm Clubman JCW review

"Even at low speeds the Mini sounds like a rally car, the two fat tailpipes belching and burping like a drunk after eating a spicy kebab. You really don't have to be going supersonic to have a chuckle. "
"I also like the fact you see NO other Mini Works on the road, so it's a proper rare little machine, and relatively modest with it"
"I reported last month that'd I'd like to see the economy improve to over 30mpg, but I'm still hovering around 28mpg. The truth is I'm enjoying the performance too much."

I love mine, too. So far so good after 7 months and almost 8000 miles
. My mileage has ranged from 27.1 to 36.6 MPG with an average of 29.5 MPG, mix of city, highway, Sport, and non-Sport button. Sport button on most of the time. The uniqueness and extra space offered by the Clubman combined with the performance of the JCW is cool. Makes it pretty rare.
Only have some brake squeal when the pads are cold which is kind of annoying.
Believe it or not, I am still getting used to the turbo motor, as I'm quite used to the whine and smoother/slightly more linear SC motors of the 1st gens.

Me too. Was trying to describe this to my SA at Prestige MINI. That is what I will tell them next time I go in for service.
Sort of a weird phenomenon. Never had that happen before. My garage is on an alley. One end of the alley is bumpy with pot holes. If I use almost enough brake (but not quite) the car will slowly roll backwards. That's when the squeal happens. Odd...
I heard this can be quite normal. Now a few hundred miles later and it's still there. Next, I'm going to find a long stretch to do some heavy braking to see if this solves it. Guess I'll be looking at new tires sooner than expected.
I've been getting that squeal also. I took it to the dealership and they said the wear patterns are normal. Note the squeal came after spending a day at the track.
