Seafoam--Smoke from Turbo

I performed the standard Seafoam treatment for the valves yesterday. Along with the usual neighborhood de-lousing smokescreen from the tailpipes, I also had a significant amount of smoke escaping from around the turbo . I have a heatshield installed so I couldn't see exactly where it was coming from. Anyone else seen this? Obviously a loose gasket or clamp somewhere on the exhaust side.

Smoke from turbo area

equals leaking exhaust. Yank the heat shield and check it out. Really, you've got the car and no one here can look at the parts for you....

The Clubbie runs like a top. Probably would effect performance more if it was on the intake side. I'll get the heatshield off this weekend and track down the leak. Heck, I might even get a little more power with a proper seal .

Ive got the exact problem.... Im thinking it would be where the flange connects to the turbo. Since its ONLY comming from the right of the heat shield, its gotta be up high. Boost is seemingly lower as well

My guess it where the 3 bolts are on the cut away flangewhere the red on here is.

Well they said it wasnt a leak (without looking)

The MA came up and was like "..something...something...your modifications...why dont we just go talk to the mechanic"

so i did and he said it was normal because, get this, the turbo gets so hot during Seafoaming that it burns off stuff under the shield. Im thinking, "then how is this thick white seafoamy-exhaust getting out of the damned pipes!?"

He did say he got about 12lbs of boost on the test drive which would be correct, though I can still only get 10.5-11...im sure if that affects it it isnt much.

Oh well, time to get my own knuckles bloody
