I started driving my JCW at 15 and now I am 17.

Good fun.
Don't crash and give young drivers a bad rap. Too many stupid kids with too much power and don't know how to drive.
And plus, who wants to see a Mini Cooper in pieces.

That car isn't even fully built...just head/cam/pulley/exhaust basically.

Try one of his 2.0L or 1.8L's....or better yet, Longboard's Rotrex R53....it is mind blowing

+1. I've been driving modified Cooper S's / JCWs since I was 18. Not once did I crash. Sick of hearing people poo-pooing young drivers. It's all about attitude as far as I'm concerned. Keep your ego at bay, and there's no reason why you shouldn't drive a reasonably nice car at a reasonably young age

not to mention the big heavy wheels, and it's a convertable..

tipping the scales near 3,800lbs (assuming it was an m3 and not a 330ci)

I was rocking a 1993 Pontiac Firebird Formula when I was 17. Yes, it got totaled. My tire came off the rim while making a left hand turn. The tires were dry rotted, was saving cash to buy some P7000's. Oh well live in learn. Should have got the generals.

The MIni JCW is a hell of a nice car for a 17 year old. Congrats.

now why the hell would you want to buy a 13 year old a JCW.... What's the legal age to drive in the States? Isn't it 16... Here we only get a learners license at 17 and full license at 18.... But a 13 year old behind the wheel....not so sure...

no matter what MINI, they're always gonna be fun lol. but the JCW is a really nice ride and if i had the chance, and the money to get it i would.

Ugghhh......does it really matter? Reminds me of the Benz forums, and not in a good way. Enjoy it is all. No admonishment from me on youth and speed (I'm way out of warranty myself, it's not the years though, it's the mileage)...that horror story from the BMW forums about that kid in a M5 killing himself and his 3 friends hours after posting on the forums still gives me the chills...
