JCW cabrio - US availability?

I just saw the news today that the new 2009 JCW Cabrio was being rolled out in the UK next month (http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...10/418126.html).

Has anyone heard rumors of an availability date for the US?

Thanks,
Ed

That only shows the JCW prices for the hardtop and the clubbie, not the cabrio.

I'm all excited..I'm headed to Geneva next week to see it! WOOT!

Now, if a slot would only open up so I can spend $42,000 on a MINI. eek.

I think convertible minis are the epitome of flamboyancy.

That's a great opinion -- could you be any more of a jack@$$? Do you think black folks should still be out pickin' cotton?

In my eyes, its bad. I want my car to be as far away from "cute" as possible. can't wait to start modding

Well, "aggressive" and "convertible" don't have to be mutually-exclusive. Here's a recent post showing a particularly wicked R52 JCW.

May I remind everyone that to please use a bit of tact before posting. I really don't feel like having to issue infractions - especially in the usually civil JCW forum.

Thanks.

I'd be curious if any of the other MAs have earlier build dates for the JCW - I have week 14 which is the first week of April. I was going to get one then thought the better of it and gave the slot to my customer.

I'll get a JCW Suspension for my birthday instead! :-)

Well, if history serves I will predict the configurator will be updated Thursday in sync with the Geneva Auto Show unveiling of the JCW cabrio. I have the #1 build slot for my dealer, i'm just waiting on the configurator so i can send my final specs to them. Once I get a build week I'll be sure to post.

Just talked to my dealer. She she told me, from what she's hearing, it will be May before she gets a slot available.
