JCW steering wheel vs MF sport wheel

Just received my new JCW with a MF sport steering wheel. While waiting for it to be delivered, I test drove another with a JCW MF wheel with suede. Seemed thicker and nicer to the touch. I'm thinking about changing it out. Looking for opinions on the differences between the Sport and the JCW as well as what people think about the suede vs the leather JCW steering wheel.
Thanks!

Both JCW types look great, you just have to decide wether you want Alcantra or Leather. I've got the Leather on the GP and will do the same to the JCW when it arrives. Cheers

Thanks, but do they seem substantially different than the sport version?

I ordered the leather JCW wheel. I don't like the feel of the Alcantara (suede) so much, but wanted the thicker wheel. I find it substantially different than the regular sport wheel.

The Alcantara does not wear well if you actually drive your car. I swapped mine for leather after about 10k miles. The JCW wheel is not only thicker, but has a smaller diameter, which quickens the ratio even more. More is better.

I test drove the JCW at the weekend with the JCW leather/alcantara wheel fitted and thought it was excellent. Its small, chunky and feels just right.

I would go with the full leather though, I have a part alcantara wheel on my Audi and it doesn't wear well.

Their is a write up on Motoringfile ...

I agree i've felt the suede w/ leather and it felt awesome. thick just right. but i'm sure it would have wear issues, it's suede. the leather should hold up better.

My first post here, so greetings to all from Spain.

Just received our 09 JCW. Two days before the delivery, we can see at dealer another JWC with standar factory wheel, and the feel is really bad for a sports car.

So we've ordered the JWC leather wheel that comes just for the delivery: small, thicker, and a pleasant spongeus touch.

A must have for this little devil.

I'm getting the standard MFSW, but would really like to replace it with the JCW wheel. I test drove a JCW with the alcantara one and it felt really nice. I'm used to the nice steering wheel of my M3 and the JCW one is similar to it.

The JCW I test drove had the wheel, but I didn't think much of it at the time. I guess I had forgotten what the MFSW had felt like.

Anywho, I'd consider it but at $500+, I can't really justify it. Nice to know that I can always buy it down the road, though.

I have the alcantra and love it. Not sure on the wear issues but it kicks butt...great feel. I never thought of getting the Alcantra but it come on my 09 JCW Launch and I am in love

In my previous car I replaced the steering wheel with a MOMO wheel with alacantra and loved it. So if it wears a little here and there, so be it. I love the feel and that's what matters.
