All else being equal, bigger wheels = more unsprung weight. I prefer less weight over less gap.
Not to mention, bigger wheels = more expensive tires.
Well I really wish I could use a set of BBS RGR's like I currently have on our R53. I really wanted to have the same anthracite set on my new JCW 09 but I don't want to drop the car too much this time around since we live in NYC and I had about enough with the rough ride I currently "enjoy". My car looks and rides great but it is too hard and I don't auto cross.
I really like how those wheels look on your ride BTW Diablito. If I had added those rims to my car we would be talking of a $46k mini at this point!!!
Also: Nice photoshop skills, the over saturation and masked layers makes your shots look so nice.
By the way... does that PW Clubman you posted earlier have white rear trim? It sure looks like it in the photos but only silver and black are shown in the configurator. That's the nicest looking Clubman I've seen to date.
[quote=Motor Head;2404651]After spending a week in the shop for striping and clear bra install, I finally have her home. Metallic silver stripes, Eibach Pro springs, painted exhaust. I'm broke but happy...

Thank you MH, your JCW look amazing..Yes the JCW CM was custom for one of my clients. I color matched the C-pillars and JCW roof spoiler for him. Nice CM all the way....Minspeed has the C pillars and wheel arches color code to order, just in case someones likes the look.
Well I finally got around to snapping some pics, after a month . Not a great setting but hey it works for now, and don't mind the rusty rotors, this was right after a wash. Oh and I am not much of a photographer. Other than what it came with only the tint is new. 15% Lumar.
Thanks club coop - they're vinyl stripes. I'd originally wanted painted stripes, but it's VERY expensive, as they have to sand and re clear coat about half the car to do it right. I had a local body shop here in Massachusetts put them on and they used a very thin metallic vinyl. They also tucked the vinyl under all of the trim and removed the Mini badges, spoiler and antenna mount first to simulate a painted stripe as closely as possible.

That is why it looks so nice. removing the MINI badges, scoop and rear handle and spoiler makes a huge difference.
Please Check the Marketplace I am selling a beutiful 2008 MCS/JCW Astro Black with less than 1,700 miles on it!!!! I am relocating to Athens, Greece and got to get rid of it ASAP!!!
I thought would throw up a pic of my baby at the dealership. It just came in a day or two ago. They still have to put the JCW body kit on and the stripes.

where did you purhase your srtripes and if you don;t mind how much did you pay for it
where did you purchase your stripes and if you don't mind how much did you pay
I used Sublime Restorations in Rowley Massachusetts (north of Boston). Julian Miller is the owner and I was thoroughly impressed with their work, as well as Julian's attitude regarding what I wanted, doing the job right and paying attention to the little details. http://www.sublimerestorations.com/
He used a very thin, high quality metallic vinyl sheet that a local sign shop cuts for him; installed the stripes first and then cut Autobahn clear film in around the stripes. Apparently, the thinner vinyl is harder to work with, but holds up better.
I don't know exactly how the pricing broke down, as it was both the stripes and Autobahn film, but I'm guessing about $1K for the stripes alone. It was many hours of work as they pulled off the spoiler, rear part of the headliner, badges, trim, etc.. As a recovering perfectionist, I've learned to not sweat the small stuff, but I still get a lot of pleasure out of seeing something done right and I don't mind paying for it.

great color combination! never would have thought of it. nice to with the red mirrors
the beauty of the mini's, no 2 alike.
Mine is almost the same thing. Same color (DS/W) same sport stripes and I have the Chili Red Mirror caps coming in the mail. Only difference (and it's big) I only have a MCS NOT a JCW.
Gmann2369 - How long did you end up waiting for your JCW to come in? I put my deposit down at MoD on 7/2/08 and was originally told I should take delivery towards the end of September/early October...9 weeks later I have a production number, but no production date/week. My MA says it will be an October build, even though he originally told me that it would be an October delivery (at the latest)! ....needless to say, I feel duped! So far this has not been the happy MINI experience I hear everyone else talking about...
