Is there Apple Carplay in non nav cars?

Aloha from Hawaii,

My 19 Countryman S, sailed from Long Beach last Saturday. I have the signature and premium packages. My question to all, is there Apple Carplay hidden in the radio? If so, is there a code out there to activate it? I don't have the navigation option.

Not sure of the exact requirements but mine came with carplay and without XM. Was able to get it from Bimmer Tech. They do have carplay available. Would not know how to code it myself. https://www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/mini

I am in the same boat as @konacoug, 19 Countryman S All4. Just checked my vehicles status on bimmer-tech and no dice, my vehicle is not compatible. I think you need the navigation feature for it to be available. Im still looking for another solution. @sdupp Did your mini have navigation built in?

I thought there might be a back door code, oh well. It's not so important, here in Hawaii, but if I move back to the Mainland, it would be nice to have. I think I will be adding an amp to the HK system. Most people are stating it really helps the HK speakers perform better.

Yes we have navigation built in. Seems odd to me nav. is required for carplay. We have another vehicle (Toyota) with carplay and no nav.

BMW/Mini CarPlay requires the wifi antenna and if you don't get navigation, you don't have the antenna.

I have an 18 F60 with just a 6.5 inch radio, is there a 6.5 inch nav system I could buy or do I have to go 8.8 screen to get it? I thought I saw somewhere the estimated cost for the 8.8 nav system around $3000 :/ and I’m just tryin to get the nav for apple CarPlay.
