F60 Sharing an F60 tuning kit

Sharing an F60 tuning kit
I’m curious if any F60 owner would be interested in sharing a tuning kit. I’m not interested in the exhaust, only the tune.
From what I understand, the kit would need to be registered to my car for the tune to be installed but the exhaust obviously works for any car. It’s also much heavier to move so, if someone is interested, we can buy it local for you. I’m not clear how the code for the tune can to be moved around but don’t think it matters where it’s purchased so long as a dealer does the flash.

This is the info i have, i was at SEMA that year when it launched and talked to MINI about it. Dealer flashes it and then its locked to that car. If removed/flash removed, its up to the dealer if they want to flash the next car. They will charge for a new flash i know that.

I’m in Canada. Not a big audience here and it’s hard to ship the exhaust. I have it on my Clubman and want the tune on my countryman, but my wife can live without the extra noise. I figure anyone with a JCW that may want an exhaust but doesn’t need the tune is a good fit,
or someone who went with a Dinan box where there is no all 4 exhaust is a good candidate…

Sold the car and got a Countryman and I miss the JCW kit a LOT! I wanted to buy it but dealers now are offering 0 discounts! MSRP installed is 2700 USD, that is way too much! I paid 1800 on my F56 4 years ago. If they offer discounts again in the future then I buy another one.

They don’t make many for the clubman and countryman since it’s a less popular model and less popular for tuning, which is why it seems it never goes on sale. There is a different kit for the LCIs you’d think they want to work down their inventory on the old one.
I would really like the tune for a little more power, but I have no need for the exhaust. It’s $2000, not sure what just the tune part of that is worth. I think the exhaust alone is $1200 in parts without tips.

" Vehicles produced after July 2019 ONLY have the added exhaust sound. There is no longer additional power added to the vehicles due to regulations. "
Yet the cost of the package is still the same! Pretty messed up to be honest! If the tune is no longer an option then they should lower the cost by at least 40%!

I will contact the dealer ( my local dealer ) and see IF the tune can be added to LCI, my local dealer is VERY VERY good and they always go above and beyond. If I get NO as an answer then what we can do is talk to ECS Tuning and we buy the kit, he ships the exhaust to me and tune codes to you and done deal. @ECSTuning

I still have warranty on my car so I was looking for something oem with a little extra oomf. I am always apprehensive about the Dinan boxes seeing as they are hit or miss in reliability. I do hear great things about the cost/value for gains.

OMG I am so sorry for never getting back to you!
I got sick around that time and I just completely forgot about it.
I spoke to my Local Dealer yesterday and they told me it cannot be done BUT if they escalate the case to HQ then they can do it. Is a pain but they are willing to help me if I buy the JCW Kit.
I will buy it but not now, I will wait till the price goes down a bit, 2K is to much for an exhaust and 15HP lol!

I guess it depends how you slice it. Going OEM won’t give you the biggest gains but I have the exhaust on my clubman and it’s great. Maybe I’d have gone with Remus had it not been a tuning kit but it would have been more than the exhaust alone. I wanted a Dinan box but don’t need CELs… and the butt dyno on the 15 Hp is much more because of the usable torque. Let me know when you’re looking into it, I’ll be here.

I thought you ghosted me. I almost bought one from a guy who has an f56 but my dealer said that won’t work…it had to be a pre-LCI F60.

Had a terrible kidney infection that left me in bed an in my house for close to 6 months. Luckily all better now.
I will let you know what I decide

I know it wasnt !
BTW, I have contacted Dinan in regards to their Software tuning ( ECU ) and I think they wont be releasing any for LCI Mini. They told me they had "no plans". That was the best tune ( my opinion ) for our cars. A lot of power, safe and honorable under Mini Warranty.

According to their website, DINAN offers piggyback tuning for the F60 through the 2022 model year:

I was also looking at the Dinan Exhaust for the F60/F54 and it seems to sound very good.

I was planning to stay OEM. I have a Dinan intake. I’m not super confident about getting a box. I own the car and I’m not fond of CELs. It’s also for my wife to scoot around town so a mild bump low in the rev range will suit her well.
As for the exhaust, when I looked into Dinan, it didn’t work for all4s. Maybe that’s changed?

one option you could get is the Dinantronic sport for the B48 instead of the full piggy back with bunch of wires. I had the dinantronic sport on my previous F10 and just put one in our F60. never caused any issue. If it does cause CEL, just one plug to unplug. And it's affordable and easy enough to replace if it breaks.
