My opinion is a Yakima Fullback... holds 3 bikes and goes on/off very easily.

Hangs nice and stable even fully loaded with or without the spoiler? Funny that Yakima recommends trunk mounts for the Countryman now because they didn't used to. Thule, Saris and Allen still don't recommended using their trunk mount racks with the Countryman -- wonder what's different about Yakima's?

I really like the one by Mini off the bumper. It's a bit spendy but it's very secure, doesn't bounce around and folds away so you have access to you hatchback even with the bikes on. Plus for my wife who's rather short she doesn't have to try and put a bike on the top of the car.

Now, if they'll only come out with a 2" receiver hitch to fit my bike racks.....

I still have mine but it's only for the R60 Countryman -- a little sad that it could only haul two bikes.

Yep, they state it fits all F60 Countryman.

Install guide.

If you look at the JCW version the bumper comes down about the same as the Cooper and Cooper S. You can see its about level at the same depth as the piano keys style metal on the underside.

Time to get your haul on, here is a European F60 MINI JCW with the euro mount (Not for US market and we don't carry it). This is very close in the design of the curt version.

Here's what the Euro version looks like:

You do have to deactivate the kick to open hatch with it, not sure if the Curt requires that as well.

Yep, most likely you have to deactivate it, as i think it would interfere.

Do you know if there are any plans afoot for a 2" receiver hitch?

TIA.

Not right now. We have adapters that go from 1 1/4" to 2";

SO ....I bought one by Saris , & have used it successfully several times now, driving 2 hours with 2 bikes. I know they don't list mini as being compatible , but that's what I am doing! My question for you is what is the easiest way to get the top hooks onto the hatch? I see you have a very similar design . I struggle with getting the top hooks safely placed with it being a hatchback. I can get everything else set up very easily...... With every way I try to hook the top I find that they want to get stuck in the small opening to get them out & its a pain in the @$$! I try opening the hatch all the way, or not all the way & still struggle with that part :( If you have a trick PLEASE let me know!!! Thank you !

I don't have a bike rack yet, those photos are from Yakima -- they say to install the straps in "anchor mode" but it looks like the strap material just passes back through the hook again to make a softer contact point?

Nice! Do you have a part number for that rack as I can’t seem to locate.

Bike rack pictured (MINI Bicycle Holder / 82722230147 / $599 retail) is for the original first-generation R60 (2010-2016) Countryman, not the F60 (2017+) -- I know because I still have my old rack sitting in a spare bedroom. It thoughtfully threads into the rear bumper with a pair of huge bolts and slides back to clear the hatch but only holds two bikes. There is no bumper-mounted bike rack for the F60.

Have any pictures? Can you open the hatch with the rack installed?
