18" ride?

Greetings! I know that ride quality is 100% subjective, AND that tires have improved substantially vs several years ago. BUT, here's the thing:

SWMBO had the misfortune to total her '16 convertible. Among the replacement contenders is an F56 S hardtop, but it has 18" wheels. I know that tire selection is more limited in the larger size, but my concern is that the ride (which was busy enough with the 17s she had) will be too harsh to live with on a daily basis. She'll never tax the handling with the smaller rims, for what that's worth.

Opinions requested and appreciated.

If that's the only thing on the car that you're not happy with, I wouldn't let that stop you from purchase. Wheels are an easy swap.

True; easy, but not cheap.

FWIW the listed equipment for the hardtop we were looiking at was incorrect; it had 17s.
Also, it appears to have gotten sold out from under us...as we walked in the door to look at it and test drive it.
