I am getting my mini in a couple of weeks and i ORdered the sport package with the 16 inch rims and run-flat tires anyone else have them and how do u like them . HOw is the ride .......

 

I have the 16 inch Y rims and they perform fine for me. I had a GT Mustang with a very stiff ride and my MINI handles much better with a smoother ride. I have heard the 17s are stiffer...acceptable only on short jaunts.
I gave a ride to a buddy with a Miata and he loved the ride! He has 17s on his and kept commenting on the smoothness of the ride.

 

maby i am overly tolerant, but i didnt mind the ride on my road trip last summer. we went about 2k miles round trip. (on the 17's) Either way i steer clear of any bumps in the road, it is konwn to cause headaches.

 

Sure, 17s are a bit harsher than my current 15" with snow tires, but they certainly weren't horrible. No problems even on bumpy roads really.
