F57 Best protectant for the top?
Best protectant for the top?
My brand new F57 JCW will have to go through its first NE winter without protection. Even if I get a carport, one of course want to protect the top.
I assume the top surface is vinyl, yes?
I assume there's no way to do a PPF film, so:
Ceramic?
Graphene?
Something else?

Giots, Autosol, chemical guys, etc
Have an R52 Convertible and you have to clean it really good once a year and use the protectant. Will bead up the water when applied and then rains. Looks like wax when it rains.

Thanks, but I'm still lost on this.
Many people swear by the tried and true "Ragtop" stuff, but I'd like to use a more modern product based on ceramic or graphene, if possible.
Problem is, a lot of these products don't say what's in them, especially the "fabric" type preservers.
Chemical guys and Adams both sell a graphene-infused spray, which definitely works on alcantara seats, and doesn't get hard. - But you have to apply it at least once per year. I'd love to use something with more graphene in it, like the Chemical guys Carbon Force or the Adams advanced, but they don't come in a spray bottle and I can't tell if they will be OK for fabric / alcantara.
Does anyone know?

I use our stuff like once a year. If you contact each company they can explain the chemicals differences. Also you can dump them into a universal spray bottle with a controllable nozzle that will mist more. For applications it works better as you will not get big blotches of chemical on the top.

As far as putting a bottled product into a spray bottle, I have my doubts. The spray formulas all have users warning to shake heavily before use, becuase the graphene settles to the bottom. I assume this is because the product is diluted with some kind of carrier. That would also explain why they only last a year or so, whereas the better bottled stuff is claimed to last 7 years or more.
Am I wrong on this?

I never trust a 7 year, i have not seen any of them last more then a year if they car sets outside to is daily driven. We have a bunch of acid rain here.
Its about once a year. I have almost 300K on my R52 and its a car that was built in 2004. Its once a year unless never driven or stored.
