F55/F56 Gel Pack replaced, leaking again <1 week
Gel Pack replaced, leaking again <1 week
So last Monday (June 4) I took my 2015 F56S in last week for a leaking gel pack in the mirror. They ordered a new pack, it was installed, and I got my car back. This was Thursday, June 4. Today, I'm washing my car and notice that the new pack is leaking, at what appears to be a faster rate than the original one. So I guess I'll call and get it looked at again.
My question to the group is, if your gel pack has leaked, did the problem return? I'm just wondering if this is to be expected, or if I'm just having a streak of bad luck.
Thanks!

Based on what I've read, the gel pack helps maintain optical clarity for the IR sensor that looks through the windshield to "see" the rain drops. When it leaks out / dries out, your auto-sensing wipers won't work.
Perhaps it's got something to do with heat?
My gel pack was replaced again last week, and it too leaks. My understanding is that MINI is aware of a problem with leaking gel packs, and has a solution in the works. I don't know if that's a replacement part, or what. Stay tuned...
My gel pack leaked and I just cleaned it up. It leaked again and I brought it up with the dealer at a checkup. They cleaned it up and said the gel packs tended to leak for a while and then would stop. That was in March 2015 and I haven't seen any more leakage.

Then the rain sensor may or may not work.
Looks like many people are having that problem, what was the part number on the gel pack, I want to see how many time it SS and if there is a newest part.

In the comments it says:
"Per PUMA replace sensor again until updated part is released." According to my SA the part should be out 'soon'.
Thanks , yea, looks like the latest ones. And the whole sensor which must come with a new gel pack.
Thanks for the info.

Bumping this to the top, since I know we have a couple of MAs (and possibly SAs) roaming the forums, with possibly more info on this topic.
I'm still waiting on the new gel pack solution to be released. This one's leaked a lot. Wipers still work in automatic mode, so it's just the annoyance of a drip inside the windshield at this time.
