Fiber Alloy Interior Photos?

Hi there - I'm just about to pull the trigger on a F55. I feel pretty confident about how I've configured it...except for the interior finishes. Right now, I have all of the stock options (black checkered dash, carbon black color line) but am seriously considering adding the "Mini Yours Interior Style in Fiber Alloy". Does anyone have photos of how this looks? It's hard to tell in the Mini Configurator website. Actually, photos of any other interior style upgrades would be really helpful too. Thanks in advance.

I would get it as you get the extra led color piping lights around the door trim and I saw a video with this trim it looks pretty good. The way I look at it if you don't like it you can always cover it with another dash shell or wrap it in CF wrap. this way you will still have the cool lighting trim in door wells... Its what I got with mine with the carbon black..

Here is a video of the Fiber Alloy @5:34

I second the recommendation. I got MINIYours Dark Cottonwood, and I love the door piping. Glad I knew to seek it out when ordering. My M.A. Had no clue about it.

I did Dark Cottonwood w/Satellite Gray color line & seats. Very sharp. Don't forget the anthracite headliner.

I did Dark Cottonwood with Glowing Red colorline, black seats and yes, Anthracite headliner (recommended!!). Looks very loungey.

Wish I would have chosen the Fiber Alloy instead of the piano black... oh well.

Surprised to read that Fibre Alloy is real metal, just as I'm surprised to learn that Dark Cottonwood is real wood (although I'm still skeptical of that. It's so thin, it's hard to believe. It does sorta kinda feel like wood, but it's so clearly an appliqué over plastic, too).

As you know, it wasn't out when we got ours. ;-)

It was when I ordered mine though! I thought the extra lighting would be distracting, but I find the piano black I opted for instead too plain.

Hmm...maybe I'll wrap it..

Yes, MINIYours was, but the only two choices were White or Dark Cottonwood. I'm pretty sure that Alloy option was not out yet.

The light-piping is subtle and nice. I like it.

I ordered my third MINI on February 15th and was just loaded on a ship yesterday. I ordered the Fiber Alloy as well because I wanted the extended light piping in the doors, which my dealer didn't know about. My order was delayed a few weeks at the factory because the option code for the Fiber Alloy changed from "4G3" which ended in February 2015 production, to "4GU" starting in March production.

I'm not sure what the change was, but I have seen some indication online that possibly the piano black inserts in the doors are now Dark Silver. Who knows though. I would be happy with either, but something changed. Why would they change the order code?

I also ordered the MINI Yours leather steering wheel because the stitching color matches the fiber alloy dash and has piano black inserts to match the doors, but what really shows up on the doors will remain a mystery until I get my car. I should have my car the first part of May, so I will take pictures then.

I heard they changed the option codes for all the MINI Yours trims....have no idea what they changed though, if anything. I look forward to your pictures!

I went to my local dealer to see if there was a car on the lot that had the Fiber Alloy trim. Amongst the sea of Mini's on the roof, there was one that had it. Here are some photos. I ultimately decided against this option. It's not terrible-looking but I like the stock checkered dash just as much, plus I don't like how you can't turn off the extra ambient lighting on the door. Ambient lighting was cool but maybe not all the time.

If the fiber alloy has any texture to it, that could make it difficult to keep clean. Whenever I went to clean the brushed aluminum trim in my R56 (may she rest in peace), I couldn't just use a wet paper towel because the surface would grab little paper lint ***** off it.

Looks alright in isolation, but don't think I'd want it. I was nervous about my Dark Cottonwood, but I like it. Many of the MINI inserts are highly questionable in terms of aesthetic appeal.

Great pictures! I am a huge fan of ambient lighting, that's why I ordered the Fiber Alloy dash, but I would agree. It would be nice to disable the lighting if you chose to do so. I really like the cottonwood too, but I was trying to keep the interior more sport oriented than warm with the wood.

That's horrible looking.

Horrible? haha I guess to each their own. I guess I see something different than what others see, but I don't think any of the dash surfaces offered are horrible.

Yes, in person, the Fiber Alloy definitely wasn't horrible. The texture and pattern gave the dash a very unique look. I came very, very close to getting it.

I'm finalizing my order on a new MINI F55 later today and am going back and forth on the Fiber Alloy style. One question I have is that the MINI configurator talks of 'Fiber Alloy accent surfaces, door bezel and structural elements' but all I ever see pictures of is the dash surface - what else changes? (In Off-White you can see the pieces in the center console below the color line change).

My other question is how the dash panel and door bezel interact. As near as I can tell, it goes...

Dash Surface -- Door Bezel
Black Check -- Black (not piano?)
Piano Black -- Piano Black
Dark Silver -- Dark Silver
Cottonwood -- Piano Black
Fiber Alloy -- Piano Black

Is this true?

Fiber Alloy looks incredibly awesome in person. It has a subtle texturing that feels great, and the look is striking. It's definitely not for people that think "quiet beige" is a good thing.

Though I liked the pattern and wanted the door lights, in the end I just couldn't deal with how brown it looks. If it had been more of a straightforward black/silver pattern I would have gone for it in a second. BTW, I did find the attached pics useful.

I've said it over and over: you can't really tell what the different interior patterns/colors look like on the configurator, you should see them at a dealership. The exterior colors are close, the interiors are not (except black and red). I would not order a Mini interior based on the configurator unless I saw it myself.
