Brown?! It's not brown in the slightest. Those pictures you attached are not how it looks in person. The ones that Popcult posted are more accurate looking. It's very much silver/gray. After all, it's aluminum.

Agreed, well said. Even then if can be said the red's aren't well represented on the configurator. For example, if someone is trying to tone-match interior red bits to exterior reds, there will be disappointment.

IMO, the checkered and fiber alloy look fantastic in person. We all have different tastes, so it's key to see the exact trim you want in-person before making a measured commitment.

Sigh...I REALLY wish I could actually see one. The sample at the dealer looks brown, the pictures I found on autotrader look brown, Popcult's pictures look grey, and the pictures on miniusanews look somewhere in between.

You're right - they are carbon and aluminium and should NOT be brown. Well...I just ordered today...I have a little while before it goes into production.

Finally picked up my my March 2015 build MC with the new "4GU" Fiber Alloy dash surface. The door trim changed as I suspected and is now dark silver. Compliments the alloy dash nicely. More pictures later. Earlier versions were piano black.

Many, many thanks to MINIDean....

Many thanks to MINIDean for posting the pics of his new Mini with the Fiber Alloy dash that now comes with dark silver door trim. I'm finalizing the build for my JCW, and am planning on including Satellite Gray door panels and the Glowing Red color line. I'm wanting black door trim, and so will now not include the Fiber Alloy dash in my build. Without MINIDean's pics, I would have included the Fiber Alloy dash and would have been severely disappointed when my JCW arrived (July order slot for September delivery). I'll stick with the standard checkerd dash.

Like you I have the Satellite Grey interior and also like you I did not want a dark silver door bezel against the grey doors.

I ordered the dash surface pieces in Dark Silver through MINIpartsMass a few days ago. In another thread I saw that though the drivers side was finicky replacing the dash surface is feasible. I'll post again once I have further info.

You're welcome! I think you are making the right choice with your color combo. Some things just don't work well together and I wouldn't pick the Fiber Alloy with what you have selected either. Glad I could help!

My Dark Silver dash surface panels arrived yesterday. They were inexpensive compared to selecting the option - about $90 for both the driver and passenger side pieces - I assume the same would be true for the Fiber Alloy ones.

Now that I can see the pieces the passenger side does indeed look very easy to swap out. But I fear I may have to damage the black checked one to get it out...but once it is removed the installation of the new one should be easy.
