Must-have options?

New here but have had many BMWs. Drove many cars in this price range and the new Mini Cooper S was the only car I walked away with that gave me that much enjoyment as my old E90 M3.

With that said, im ordering one!

However the options make my head spin. As of now I was trying to keep it bare bones but the more I read here, the more I want to add options.

Currently my build looks like this.

British Racing Green
White Top/Mirrors
Heated Seats
Comfort Access
6-speed manual
Sport Package

I may add HK sound since many here suggest the stock radio is pretty poor sounding.

With that said, anything else that you can not live without?

A related topic from earlier this month that'll have good info for you: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t-getting.html

My cannot live without option... my car color! Though I doubt many will agree with me there, I don't believe a single person active on these forums has taken delivery of one with this color

If I had actuallyordered my car and not bought off the lot, I would've opted for the mini connected and Hk audio packages. Also would've got an arm rest.

I wish I didn't have an armrest. And I love my head up display.

I think the storage package.

You're ok with the suspension?

You just saved me! I had thought sport package came with the sport suspension but it does not! Added it today. Phew!

Also added HK system to it as well.

Storage package is a must. Also, I am really liking the comfort access package and HUD.

Ah, another iced chocolate person! Though you've got an R56? I've really only been following this forum, and haven't seen any pictures of that color yet =) We don't even have a color club yet!

Options really are a personal choice. One item I could live without is the armrest as it will spend its life in the "up" position to avoid arm conflicts in a 6MT car. It was part of a package in Canada, but I would leave it off if I could have.
The HK radio sounds like a must have tho.

We also got the storage package (gives us the rigid platform and the extra power plug in the boot) and, from the parts dept., the boot tray accessory. My husband LOVES the heads up display (better than the Corvette) and we are really impressed with the Nav/Map system...super easy to use and he loves how he can check the vehicle's status (i.e. engine oil level, tire pressure levels, etc.). And, get the HK sound...it's worth it! Depending on where you live, you may also need/want the Cold Weather package...gotta have my heated seats!

Thanks everyone! I locked in a June allocation from my dealer so wont be changing my order anymore.

Had to make some changes since the 2015s have forced options now. I also chickened out on the white roof. Doing bodycolor now.

So officially it looks like this.

2015 Cooper S - 6MT
British Racing Green II
Bodycolor top/mirrors
Sport Suspension
LED Headlights / White turn signals
Alarm (eh its forced if you want CA now)
Comfort Access
HK Sound

Took off Sport Package as I will use the 16s with all seasons for winter and buy some other wheels next summer.

Now the wait begins..

Yep, just agreed on finalized negotiated price of my now changed to 2015 build. Never had a factory alarm system, or an after market alarm system, on any car. To me, there mainly obnoxious and likely not going to stop any professional car thief as they likely can bypass an alarm system.

Is there anywhere I can find a description of what I'm getting for my money? I've searched, but haven't found much technical info.

I suppose it might save me a few $ on insurance, but I doubt it ever will come anywhere near covering the cost.

Although my F56 is deep blue metallic, and I love the color, I prefer BRGII, my wife's R56s is BRGII with a black top and viper stripes and after my 3 year lease is up, I will be ordering my next MINI in BRGII and it will be an S with every damn option available including a drop top! Lol

Your photos helped me. Just wished more people would post their BRGII unless its not that common...

I wouldn't want to be without:

Sport Seats
Auto A/C
iPod & BlueTooth (if not standard)

Just about everything else is in the nice but not necessary category. If doing any performance driving (track and/or autocross), then the sport suspension is necessary, otherwise its optional to taste.

I really could not live without the premium package and the cold weather package. I do not need the cold weather now but those heated seats in these cold WI winters will be nice.
