F55/F56 1st Oil Change?

It took 5.0 quarts of oil. I initially added 4.5 quarts, started the engine, then checked the electronic oil level. The oil display level was halfway between to low and high points. I then added a half quart, repeated the electronic oil level procedure, and it indicated full level.
When the dealer changed the oil & filter for me, the bill shows 6 qts.

My R56 full was 4.5qts and they always used 5qts. They said it doesn't matter if they overfill it a little. A bunch of owners were worried about it because it happened routinely at dealerships across the country.

You would think we can trust BMW's maintenance computer by now. They had them in their E30's back in the 80's!
Since I'm going to be racking up the mileage on my F56 it's better for me to have less change intervals. Just hope the engine doesn't sludge up like the one posted previous. :-(

Has anyone found any aftermarket brand oil filter that can substitute the above oem PN?
I ordered one online from a BMW dealer and had to pay $27 inc. shipping.

We have it here currently around $16.47 . In stock. Just get a couple for the future. Its very new so no aftermarket at this point. Its made by Mahle, I know that.
