my speedo said "Battery Discharged Start Engine" my center data screen "Battery Discharge While Stopped" I guess my 800AH Batt. is done even though I charged it monthly. It's gonna turn 3 yr.s next month. WHAT A BUMMER ! So, I test it with my Romondes Batt. machine & it tells me : CCA = 596A, SOH =74%, SOC = 93%, IBR = 4.17 the V = 12.56 SO, What's Up With That ?

 

Did you tell the car you installed a new battery?
3 months or 3 years?

 

" State of Health = 74% " I believe the car just doesn't tolerate weak batteries and gives ample warning for you to replace it. I assume you mean 3 years as you have posted before about the Remondes, I sympathize with your frustration but it seems batteries these days "just ain't what they used to be" That being said I'll bet you can squeeze some more months out of it. What brand battery is it ?

 

it was installed by Mini 3 years ago, so it was registered. it was prolly some cheap-*** batt. no doubt. .I'll be the first to admit I don't drive that much but I do charge monthly. Can you think of anything else ? I wonder out of curiosity what it says when the Alternator dies ? it was new 9/21 & I ignored it for 15 mo.s before I learned about this situation. I would charge right up in no time when I started the monthly charge program, then it changed & started taking longer to charge a few months back, say 4-5 mo.s I think it's just some cheap batt. & I want the names of some GOOD BATT.S

 

I changed mine out in my 2017 MCS and put in a Bosch S6587B 800 CCA AGM battery. I am very pleased so far

 

Also in the past I have had good results with Interstate and Deka brands

 

PClay - on that Bosch batt. Do You run a monthly charge program on that item ? How much did you pay for that batt. I Like It ! yesterday in the rain I jumped in car, fired it up, turned on A/C, radio, wipers, parking lt.s, went for 10 mile ride. came back, turned off everthin on my street & parked in my covered shed. Killed the car & it didn't say a thing ! IT 'S GOT GREMLINS ! Have to try it again today

 

Are you sure the terminal connections are tight?

 

I ran a REPAIR on batt. (De-Sulfate) when I first got my Romondes RD510. Had everthin all apart, cables off, the whole git-go. Put the cables back on GOOD, haven't had it broke down since. Went for 20 mile ride yesterday, everthin just fine, will spin around today. I think my car just freaked out & it hasn't repeated. So...... I'm going to wait & see if it happens again. I just don't get it, must be Bad Ju-Ju Tarzan (it is 10 years old). THANK YOU ALL !

 

I firmly believe I've the 2015 BMW/Mini Gremlins ! Next week I do my Monthly Charge & I assume everthin will be fine, but I do wonder about Battery Life ? How long do you people get out of your Batteries ? 5 years ?
