Hi Stu, the term you’re looking for is “retracting” and @ECSTuning sells the multi-piece one from Schwaben and it’s currently on sale.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben...ces/pbk-11pcs/

I don’t own it however, it has good reviews, great price point and works on multiple makes/models.

Contact them and give them the heads-up on their website error (330) 331-2003.

If you do place an order for the kit the information is:

: MFG# PBK-11PCS
: ECS# ES#9747
: $42.36 on sale from $52.95 (20% off)

I can get to that product page now. Might be worth a retry.

Separately, one can "rent" a kit like this from places like Advance Auto Parts and O'Reilly Auto Parts. I have "rent" in quotes because the way the process works is they charge the price of purchasing it to a CC, and when you bring it back, they refund the full amount. If you don't bring it back before expiry of the rental period you are presumed to have purchased it and can't bring it back as part of the "rental" arrangement. I think O'Reilly has something like a 48 hour rental period, but Advance Auto is longer, or at least that is the case at each of their stores near me.

When I did the brakes on various cars I just used a good size screw driver to pry the pad (and force the piston) away from the rotor. Didn't try to rush this but it only took a moment or two. I was careful and neither the rotor or pads were damaged. Not that it made any difference anyhow since both were being replaced.

You want to make sure the brake fluid reservoir level is not too full so as you push the pistons back into the calipers the brake fluid reservoir doesn't overflow. 'course, no matter which way to spread apart the pistons this is a concern.

Having a hard time imagining how a screwdriver wouldn't work but I admit I never did the brakes on my MINI.

Rear pads have parking brake lever.
the lever use a screw though the piston to lock the piston against the rotor.

Likely your VPN. When I disable the VPN and refresh the page, it’s all there. Hope this helps.
