Some new Stuff!!!

Well I already have the JMTC 50mm Hybrid Turbo and decided today to make another big change for some more performance changes,

I just ordered a Stage 3 Long Life Kevlar Clutch Set with a 30% Load Pressure Plate AND a 31 pound Street Flywheel...

Once I install all of this and a handmade 3" Exhaust I am hoping that I will add 60-80 Horsepower to my Mini JCW!!!

The New Clutch Setup should easily be able to handle the HP!!!

What is the brand of the clutch and flywheel set-up? Keep us updated, especially on the street drivability of the new clutch and flywheel. Any noticeable vibration switching from the DMF? Etc.

Cheers!

I would be cautious running that clutch and flywheel. A single mass flywheel with a solid center clutch plate doesn’t sound like a great combination. There was another member here that had the clutch plate shear off all the rivets holding it together. JMTC makes some questionable design choices with their products….

Thanks!

That's exactly what I needed. Can't wait to see your car evolve. Is a LSD going in when you do the clutch/flywheel?

Cheers!

njaremka,

What Clutch and Flywheel combo do you recommend? Getting rid of the DMF is a goal I have when I upgrade the Clutch and install a LSD. I'm trying to gather info so I can get a good idea of options for this.

Cheers!

Clutchmasters has a couple single mass conversion options - steel or aluminum. They also offer sprung disc clutch plates. Solid-Solid just isn't a good idea because there is nothing to absorb any shock loading. Add in a 6-puck "On-Off" clutch disc and I wouldn't want drive that thing anywhere.

Here is the thread with the JMTC failure:

Again, might want to reconsider if you haven't purchased yet...

And his build thread with a few more details:
