F55/F56 Fuel flap won't secure closed
Fuel flap won't secure closed
The pin that pops out and keeps the fuel locked isn't popping out. I left the car with the flap ajar overnight and in the morning it had popped out again, so I used the cable to retract the pin and closed the door, but now it's stuck in the retracted position again.
As far as I can tell you can't force the pin to extend, just retract. Is there any way to lube it--assuming that's the issue--or is there a part that probably needs replacement?

Welp took it to the dealer and figured it out. Was something so simple that I missed it.
The cable that secures the gas cap had deformed and was preventing the fuel filler flap from closing. Had to replace the cable and the cap.
