B48 f56 Engine Load

I am planning to get a new turbo for my 2015 f56 coop S but i don't know how much HP or PSI the B48 engine take before it blows on stock internals. I am thinking about replacing the internals with forged pistons, cam shaft, and possibly crank but can not find camshaft that is forged and same with the crankshaft.

Also why is there no catch can for the 2015 mini cooper s, ive tried to find videos to see if people done it on their minis but only for R56 models or last gen minis and why not 3rd gen? But i do see on ECS tuning they have universal catch cans but im pretty sure they dont fit on the F56s.

Apparently, the engine was designed to not require or benefit from an oil catch can. I read it somewhere before, and I'm sure you can search for better details than I can give off the top of my head.

thank you for replying but that literally makes no sense because the B48 engines are oil burners, to be honest thats kinda BS if you ask me.

Never really seen anyone throw a catch can on a B48, the Pcv setup is more efficient than the last gen R56s. One of my R56 friends did put one on his N14, helped a decent amount.

As for power levels I had piston 2 go 40k miles in with an aggressive RPM tune making 284whp/318wtq. It's normally cylinder 2 that gets too hot from the turbo and suffers from lspi

Thanks Triwingar! Has anyone else had a motor failure, tuned or not? If tuned what tune/specs?

"....camshaft that is forged..." Never heard of a forged cam. Cranks are generally cast from ductile iron because it is cheaper than a forging. Forged cranks are usually only found in high reving, high output engines. I don't know if the stock B48 crank is cast or forged. My best guess, pulled from thin air, is that its cast. But I certainly could be wrong.

The vanos unit is an ever changing cam lobe design, because of that aftermarket companies never touch them as there is no gain. The crank is similar to the B58 meaning it is forged steel, same with the rods. Pistons are the only cast item on the B series motors

Yes i understand that there is no such thing a forged cam i meant camshaft when i said cam and crank. I am planning really pushing the engine to its limits but yes most likely the camshaft and crankshaft is cast iron but i was wondering if anybody found forged internals like the camshaft and crank because i didn't, but i will probably get them custom made into steel camshaft and crankshaft.

is this true for ALL B series motors like the B48 motor (which i have). yes there might be no gain in HP but it would add strength to the engine under heavy loads like a lot of HP especially a I4. Im trying to squeeze as much power out of it as possible so i need that strength If the camshaft and crankshaft is cast iron.
