BimmerCode Coding for Added HK Tweeters

Hi,

In my 2017 Justa, I've added original Mini A pillars with HK tweeters. The rest of my system is the stock non-Hk setup.

I was wondering if there is anything I can change via BimmerCode to control just the tweeters, such as volume and tone.

TIA.

Nothing with Bimmercode.

Did you install the crossovers? You shouldn't need anything else.

I don't know about crossovers. Don't even know what they are. I bought the pillar covers from and had them installed by an authorized BMW/Mini reseller.

I just thought it would be nice to be able to control the tweeters' volume/tone separately from the standard Front to Back, Side to Side settings.

Thanks.

There is no way in Bimmercode to set tweeters.

Regarding tone, tweeters are high frequency drivers. If the proper crossover networks were installed, then the tone setting on your radio will already control
the tweeter volume. Lower highs, tweeter volume goes down.
If they did not install crossover networks inline to the tweeters, expect about a month before they blow.

I understand you installed the pillars with HK tweeters, but crossovers prevent low frequencies from arriving at the tweeter.
I believe (the HK) frequency limitation was done in the headunit, rather than a separate crossover.

I'm pretty sure the crossovers are built into the h/k amp, no? I don't think installing the tweeters will do anything unless you also install the amp (and then add the h/k option code to the car via coding).

Did you install the amp? The amp would have tweeter output, and the crossover electronics are internal to the amp.
If no, The H/K option doesn't apply to you.

I have an H/K system in mine, and no I can't control the tweeters!!!

How are the tweeters tied in? How was it installed by the "authorized BMW/Mini reseller."
On a "stock" radio, one would tap into the left and right speaker outputs, and install crossovers.
On my 2013, I bought the Alpine kit, and it included the amp. tweeters, and inline crossovers.
As I stated, tweeters are an "extension" of your other speakers, turn down the treble, and the tweeters soften up, and vice-versa.

What are you talking about? The OP asked if there was a way to control the retrofitted h/k tweeters with coding. As far as I know, they won’t work at all unless you install the h/k amp since the crossovers and wiring are directly from the h/k amp. Without the h/k amp, all the speakers are controlled directly from the head unit. To get the retrofitted tweeters to work without the h/k amp you’d have to manually wire them with external crossovers from the door speakers.

I don't have the HK amp but the tweeters DO work so I imagine they manually wired them with the door speakers. I guess next chance I get (after the lockdown), I'll ask them how they installed them.
Thanks for all the help.
