My F56 keeps throwing the P12A9 code, or "Boost Pressure Sensor Too High"

This is giving me a check engine light. I have a Dinan Sport Module on the car, and it was problem free for a while, until I set it to race mode. It worked fine for about 3 weeks before it started throwing the code. I have gotten rid of it in the past by setting it to sport plus until it goes away, and then setting it back to Race. This is the third time that the CEL has comeback, but it takes a while to return after setting it back to race mode. Does anyone know a way to stop this from happening? Thanks in advance.

Had the same issue with the Dinan Sport and unfortunately was never able to find a resolution. Even sent it back to Dinan for evaluation, and it came back “passed with flying colors.” Ended up just pulling it off the car, CELs stopped happening, and I tossed it in a closet. Would love to hear of a solution!

I had the same issues with a few Elite modules over a year ago. Dinan eventually gave up on trying to fix the issue and told me to return the module to them for a refund. I mailed it back to them and tracking says one of their people signed for it but they never gave me a refund. Dinan continues to ignore my attempts at getting a refund to this day.

This is a very common issue with some Dinan piggyback modules. Get your money back. NM and Berger Tuning have less troublesome options.

I have a Dinan Elite and occasionally get that code. It was a real problem at first, but after a very meticulous reinstall (batteries out of keys, etc.) the problem went away for over six months. I have had a CEL pop up twice recently now that the weather is really heating up in FL, but it usually clears after a few starts. Other than getting a CEL, there has been no impact on performance at all.

The Sport will void your warranty, there were so many issues in the beginning when these came out that MINI said if it’s on your car under warranty the engine warranty is voided. The Elite is a much better product, yes more expensive but also carries the Dinah and MINI warranty.
