Quick Question about 2015 DCT Transmission

I just had a quick question about how the transmission acts in my 2015 Mini Cooper S automatic. I can't seem to find much info on it anywhere..

So when I have the car in sport plus mode (sport mode and shifter in sport), when I am at a stop is it constantly grabbing the clutch? To me it feels like the clutch is always engaged because you can take your foot off the break slightly and it will begin moving instantly. Is this bad for the clutch when stopped at a long light? Should I be putting the shifter into D and then Sport when I am ready to take off?

Any answer is appreciated! Thanks!

Don't think you have a DCT . Mini just started using them recently.

A. You don't have a DCT. B. Yes, the 'clutch' is always grabbing (as is the case in all automatic transmissions). C. No, you shouldn't put it into P every time you stop.

Well that's embarrassing.. what kind of transmission is it then? I used to have a Ford focus with a DCT and they feel very similar.. And also I said should I put the car into D not P lol.

one of these https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=24_1746
depending on your car production date.

It is a pretty responsive transmission, no complaints from me. Compares favorably to the VW one in our GTI in everyday street driving.

I also notice in Sport, a higher idle, and a more positive "grab" of the torque converter.
NORMAL.
