I just noticed something interesting with the automatic in Sport mode. If you move the shifter to the left, the transmission goes into Sport mode and shifts automatically until you actually move the shifter up or down. But the power steering does not tighten up. It's only when you move the ring into sport mode does the steering tighten.

And this leads to another way to do Sport mode on the auto. Configure Sport only to affect the chassis/steering, and use the shift lever for when you want the engine in sport mode.

The engine seems to have Sport's responsiveness -- less lag in initial acceleration. An additional benefit of moving the shifter to the left.
Sounds like a safety feature in case the driver moves the shifter to the left without knowing.
When you put the shifter to the left you will be in "sport auto" and this will be displayed on your gauges as S1-6. And the shifting is much more aggressive and it holds RPM's much higher. The steering will only tighten up with the other sport mode. It has nothing to do with the transmission modes. You can change it to manual if you'd like by simply hitting the paddle shifters or moving the stick up or down and then the gauges will display M1-6. The car will shift on it's own at a certain point if you are using it in manual to prevent damage like mentioned above in a previous post.
With all of that said, I prefer the sport auto mode.
I usually put it to the left and shift with the paddles vs the shift lever. Today for some reason I tried to shift with the shift lever. Lever moved away from me smoothly but when pulling back it was tougher to pull. It did pull back and shift but seemed to catch on something or a notch feel? Is this common or thoughts on what the issue is
