Hi, everyone, I have a 2015 F56 Mini Cooper S Hardtop 2dr hatch, I was confused about B46/B48 engine, I am looking to get a JCW tuning kit with flap exhaust system for my car recently but there is two versions listed in MINI website, one for B46 another for B48.

So my question is: How do I tell which type of engine I have?

MINI has a special promotion going on right now on the tuning kit. As long as you have a F55 S, F56 S or F57 S it's the same kit regardless of the engine. You are correct that if you look at shopminiusa.com there are 2 different part numbers for the kit depending on the engine, but only one of them below has the special price. Thanks, I just checked MINIUSA, there is now two versions of tuning kit, one for B46 and one for B48 engine, unlike before it was categoried by F55/F56/F57 i think.
You mean I can still get the one for F56 B48 motor which is currently on sale?

Yes, the B48 is still on sale using the part number I posted above. The -630 part number on their site doesn't have the special price. The -631 works on either engine B46 or B48. As mentioned above the chrome tips are only included in the special price. The carbon fiber tips are nice but you don't see that much of them for the price.

 

Where did you get this image? Now it is only showing the -631 available on MINIUSA and that it is for the B46 engine with no mention of the B48. I am interested but my dealer is saying that they can't guarantee -631 fitment on my B48. Did you get one? If so, which and any issues? Thanks.
