Help installing a bunch of mods
NAMers,
Ive finally consolidated all the parts necessary for my mods and ready for the installs, my only problem is that Im a recent paraplegic and working on bigger jobs on my cars are almost impossible now.
Im located in Houston and was wondering if anyone in the area was willing to make some money working on the car.
Now I can just go to my mechanic that services the R53, but I wanted to let a fellow mini maniac work with me on it (spread the love).
Im a bit reserved for the shop to do it as his eyes may light up and try to gouge me (he may not but you never know), but If all else fails, Ill just go to him.
This is a list of the items I'm installing:
NM Eng. Billet Aluminum Upper Tie-Bar
NM Eng. Aluminum Rear Control Arm
NM Eng. Rod End Boot Kit
NM Eng. Sway Bar Rear Sport -22mm
Bracket Kit With Grease Fitting - 22mm
NM Eng. Rear Adjustable Sway Bar Link Kit
ALUMINUM SKID PLATE: RENNLINE
Forge Uprated Alloy Intercooler
JCW 4 Piston Sport Brake Kit Retrofit
The Big Pair for MINI
Eventuri Black Carbon Intake Pre LCI
Powerflex lower arm bushing
Mud guards
Things Ive done myself:
Black rings front and back
UJ taillights
Black beltline
Black door handles and gas cap
Fog light switch
Rearview mirror with garage door opener
Secret compartment
8" screen from 6"
Installed at MINI at purchase
K1 Coilovers
Dinan Sport
JCW spoiler
Sparco 18” wheels
Magnaflow Axle back
K&N intake
In case anyone is wondering, my car has been retrofitted with hand controls. Sadly I can't have fun with the R53 as its manual (hopefully Ill get my legs back)
Regards

Unfortunately, I’m geographically challenged and I’m technically challenged (to say the least) so I’m of no use to you. I am interested to hear how you did the rear view mirror upgrade. Not one of the cars I looked at had that option, and dealers advised that few cars are ordered with it. So odd that MINI does not build cars with a garage door opener as standard. MINI May be worse than Porsche in that regard. Wondering if a retrofit of the rear view mirror with garage door opener is possible on a 2015 F56 S?
Good luck on your mods! I’m confident someone from this community will step up to assist you.

Hey Fbfisher follow the thread below where I assisted another member. It’s a very easy retrofit.
The mirror part number is 51166821264
Btw mini told me the exact same thing that it can’t be installed, but I’ve realised almost can, once you have the patience, schematics and hardware.

All done, she runs the way i want....perfect.
My immediate perception
1. The intake smooths out acceleration.
2. Brakes aren't "grabby" but has more feel, compares to the wifes' 2017 Q7
3. The rear tweaks (sway, end links etc) def firmed up her "butt"
4. Didn't install the Powerflex bushing...will fit later on if necessary.
5. Did not need spacers, Sparco rims fit over the brembos easy peasy
Haven't put her thru the paces yet, but all in all I LOVE MY MINI!
You don't wanna now how much the mechanic charged

It looks gorgeous!! I was debating on getting the JCW brake kit for mine, but I think I will just install some slotted rotors and EBC redstuff pads since I'm up for the replacement anyway. I'm typically against "Painted" Intercoolers, but man, that black intercooler on the BRG car with a Gunmetal Grey, something subtle, would really pop imo(alot more than it would on my pepper white)! That red sway bar.... I would've thought it would be more of a glossy candy red instead of that... I'm thinking I'm in the same boat as you. Car is looking great, and I know you'll have a ton of fun with the upgrades!!

Gunmetal grey where, Im liking the way you think. Im thinking about doing stripes but ghost, not the typical black or white. Thoughts?
Will take some proper pics of her tomorrow or sunday.

Maybe just a simple spray on "FORGE" on the IC? Nothing extremely visible. just a nod... my pepper white f55 has a black top and no bonnet stripes but im not sure i want to do it... maybe off center?
you know, maybe offcenter for you too? I'd have to see some ghost stripes to really make a guess, but what about small ones in the same color as your wheels? Would stick out quite a bit and you wouldnt want a lot of it, but maybe a thin offcenter stripe on the drivers?

Man that's exactly what I thought about the bar...looks pink-ish because of the powder coating i guess. The black intercooler really is fantastic.

Wrt stipes, I initially I was looking at black offcenter with a gold pinstripe on the outer edge (matching rim colour) but was worried about having too much of the gold colour. Decisions decisions.
