F55/F56 DIY JCW tuning kit installation
Yes, the early units had crappy bluetooth. Mostly the issue is the flap closes when it gets interference from a phone or watch, etc. Even from other cars around you. I made a hard wire kit, works very well. Instructions here:

Hi everyone!
I’m new here and just installed the JCW exhaust in my 2014 F56 3-door today. Wired everything up nice and neat and went to start the car to try the valve, but the car immediately gave me a drivetrain warning and would not start (although it turned over fine). Does anyone have any idea what could have gone wrong here? I did disconnect the battery before doing the wiring and I’m worried that was a major mistake. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your reply. At the time I thought it would be a best to disconnect the battery for safety, but I’m definitely regretting it now.
I followed the JCW BWM install guide as well as the guide here on NAM. I installed the fuses as directed in the attached pdf. They’re in slots F59 (black wire) and F74 (red wire).
i did not have any faults or errors appearing before the install so that’s why I think either disconnecting the battery caused the problem, or there’s something going on with the wiring. I’m planning to disconnect the two wires in the fuse box tomorrow and see if that solves the problem.
Well I disconnected the fuses and still the car pops up the drivetrain warning and turns over just fine but fails to start. I’m not sure what could be causing this and my Mini is my only vehicle.
any more ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

good news! Car is running again and drivetrain issue has disappeared. Taking it to the dealer for the ECU tune so I’ll mention the drivetrain error to then. The new exhaust sounds great, can’t wait to see if it sounds better after the tune.
Battery related
Regarding on JCW tuning kit installation so do we leave the battery hook on or disconnect ? Cos i dont feel like running some error codes after i install the fuses tomorrow heheh thank you all for pictures and advice for the installation
