Hi. Can anyone recommend a dash cam, and how to mount it?
I'm thinking, not a cell phone.
I have a garmin gps mounted on the MINI stalk already.
Maybe a gps/dash cam combo?

Thanks.

Go to ByteTroniks site, they have an awesome one that mounts on the mirror and connects via the OBD port. No wiring

$20 for shipping is to much.

Although a little more expensive, I like BlackVue https://www.blackvue.com. Mine is the 650 which I don't think is made anymore. They are small, capture a high quality image, and have a variety of configurations. Experience has taught me that they require a high quality memory card. IMHO, dash cams are one of those things you get what you pay for, especially in image quality. Think the ability to read a license plate number of the car that just sideswiped you and took off.

Good luck on your search.

Ive installed Owl Cam, www.owlcam.com

It has front/rear HD cameras and also acts as security/anti theft/break-in/car damage prevention as well. Installation less than 10 minutes as it connects to OBD2

I use a PapaGo! Gosafe 200. It clips on the rearview mirror and it has a slide down screen. 1080p, 30fps, and has very clear image quality.

I have a Thinkware F800 in my Hellcat and a 2nd one to install in my JCW when I get around to it. The Thinkware is a nice dash cam -- my first -- but a co-worker has the F700 model and he had nothing but good things to say about so I bought the newer model. There's a F800 Pro out now too but I have no idea what extras it might have.

I got a Viofo A119v3. It's been working fine so far.

I have a hankering for using parking mode, but it uses up battery power, so people buy auxiliary battery.
The batteries can get expensive, cause you don't want to just use a cheap Li ion power bank because of potential fire issue, so you want the expensive safer Lithium Iron Phosphate.

I have from AliExpress. Love it. Connect over wifi, simple app. Looks almost invisible, maybe 2 cm lower than factory mirror mount housing

Looks great, is it hard to wire?

Thank you, they now seem to be available with easier wiring but I can't figure out what it refers to. Rain sensor, light dome ? https://a.aliexpress.com/_B1D46A
