Anyone use a Dash Cam?

Anyone currently using a dash cam in their MINI? I was looking into it and noticed most of them are big and bulky which is kind of a turnoff inside the MINI. The most expensive ones don't exactly guarantee excellent video. I saw that DVR207GS, a $69 cheap camera, was getting a lot of play. Seems like a cheap solution with okay results.

Anyone?

How long can a gopro record for? I would just get a gopro and loop the recording if there's an option. I wish American insurance companies would give dscounts to dash cam owners like in Russia(so many great youtube moments) I would purchase one myself.

I've only just found this thread. I use a dash cam I bought from eBay UK. This is the item number:121093876067

It's compact and fits nicely behind the rear view mirror. It's 720p for the front camera and slightly less for the stick on rear camera.

How would you route the wire?

I would be more worried of having my window broken trying to steal the camera...

I use my phone. Use it with the app Torque Track Recorder. I record to a 32 GB SD card and overlay boost, timing, rpm, throttle pos. and afr. That way I can review the video and data later. Can also overlay a map. Moto RAZR HD.

I'm using a BlackVue DR500GW-HD. Loops video, comes with a 16gb micro SIM, has GPS/speed and date-time stamps.

Looks like this (not mine)
