Stubby antenna

I traded my '15 S in 2016, I bought it in 2014 ( my third MINI). I have on order a 2019S and am wondering about adding a stubby antenna after I purchase the car. Will the shorter antenna affect my Satellite or Apple Carplay reception?

I think that antenna is for radio only. I have the OEM Mini stubby, but quickly removed it because reception was quite a bit worse. I mostly listen to the radio in the car. I'm in the foothills of LA, so I although I'm very close to a big city, the hills hurt. Is there another stubby that gets better reception?

The antenna pole that actually sticks up from the roof is for the FM radio, and I believe AM as well. The satellite radio antenna is built into the bulge (for lack of a better term) part of the antenna assembly. As for Carplay, I'm not super knowledgeable in, but I believe it just uses Bluetooth to connect to your iPhone which would be handled by antennas inside the cabin.

My Carbon came with the sporty short antenna and I haven't noticed any lack of quality reception. Went on a rally a few months ago and the radio didn't dip when we got out in the boonies.

FWIW my Coupe has a stock stubby mounted on the R rear fender (the top/roof is different, no electricals in it at all). Works fine.
