F56 UJ LCI Taillights

Hey everyone,

I have noticed that many of us have tried to install these taillights, but not everyone has been as lucky with the end result. So I wanted to create this thread so we can potentially solve all our issues, whether it's coding or wiring.

If everyone could please post your progress along with the year of your mini, where you bought the lights, and a picture of the wiring diagram behind your taillights.

Your response would be greatly appreciated as I am currently in the process of installing these lights (UK version from newministuff.com) myself and have come across some difficulties in my 2014 Cooper S with the LED light package. My current problem is that the brake light will not turn on. I will attach pictures of the wiring.

Mine is a 2016 JCW - June 2015 build. The lights worked correctly right away after plugging them in - turn signals are the amber lights, brake likes are the vertical lights. They work independently of each other. Only under extreme braking I get the brake lights and the amber light turns on because of the force braking feature. I coded out the error codes I was getting when I installed them based on the LED issue.

@kfmuller I actually managed to get mine working! I had just set the rear fog lights to turn on with brake lights with my previous lights, and having that on was not sending the signal to the vertical lights. I coded out the rest just like you did and now they are working as they should.

Yep, I also had to remove the coding to use the rear fogs as brake lights. Mine now look like yours. I still have rear fogs though. I did find out you can code the rear lights as fogs and brake lights, just not with the UJ tail lights.
