Larger Brakes

One thing I've noticed since purchasing my Cooper is that, the brakes are a little lacking. Id really like to upgrade the brakes to JCW or, something comparable from another company; who though, I have no idea.

Will the JCW front/rear setup work on my base Cooper? Secondly, are there any other brands that any of you might recommend other than JCW?

Best place to get the JCW front/rear brake upgrade?

You will need to get bigger wheels. The 16s wont clear the big calipers

Willwood makes compatible kits. Check out ECS, they have complete systems

Don't forget tires. Big part of the stopping equation.

Arent the kids all riding low profile these days? Putting a 16 on a 17 is super low-pro!

I personally do not like super low-profile tires. I like more meat on mine.

Pads make a big difference too. I loved the switch going from OEM to Hawk HPS on Hondas. More bite, firmer pedal. Can't figure out if Hawk has them for us yet.... need to make some calls when I find the time. Maybe EBC is the way to go.

I've had EBC's one of my previous Vipers, and they were great. They also reduced the brake dust considerably.
