2016 F55 clutch shudder
I have a 2016 F55 1.5L Mini.
The clutch sometime shudders when starting in 1st or 2nd. It is not consistent. I've thought maybe it was the weather, or if the car is warm. Sometimes its very consistent. Its usually mild but noticable but has been moderate a couple of times. I took people to lunch Friday and everyone noticed it.
Any ideas what it could be? I didn't do this when new. It has 28,000 miles on it. I've never owned many manual transmission cars and have never had one that's had anything like this.
Once the clutch is released there's no vibration.
Engine RPM doesn't seem to prevent it. I usually ease the clutch at relatively low RPM. I've tried revving to see if that would prevent it, sometimes it makes it worse and has gotten to shake moderately bad in an mode like something is clearly wrong. If I take it to the dealer I'm afraid it won't act up and they won't find anything. I'm waiting for it to get worse and be obvious and consistent.

If it was mine, I'd take it to the dealer and take the shop foreman for as long a ride as necessary. Let them drive it as well. This method usually works, and the foreman has no issues spending as much time away from the shop as needed.
When I had control arm problems I headed over to the largest speed bumps I knew of and we solved that problem easily.
