2014 mini s manual trans fill and drain plug size

hey my mini has 86k, and im putting together some maintenance parts.

I want to replace the two plugs with magnetic plugs, but i cant find the size of the fill and drain plugs anywhere

does it have anything to do with the r56 6 speed? If so I have that size. if not, what is it?

thanks for your help

no drain or fill plug described but you can see a fill plug on the transmission

it would be weird to think in 2 years no owner has looked to see if the transmission has a drain plug. it might not at this point, it might. ill try to look over the pictures here to see. eventuallt wheni change the oil ill look myself

otherwise it has to be syphoned out or a new hole tapped.

Yeah, I looked all over realoem and couldn't find anything either. Really sparse with details on any of the transmissions.

I found an online marketer that claims that ALL 6 speed minis are m18 x 1.5 including f56

but dimple and goldplug do not list anything for 2014 mini at all.

there does not seem to be any actual write up or video of 6 speed trans fluid change but there is a sign that it takes different fluid than the r56....

Should be a sticker on the transmission giving the specs required for gear oil. I used RedLine MTL in my R56. I imagine they'll have something compatible with the F.

it takes a different weight than the r57 it takes 75/90

mini and bmw sell it but its different than redline mtl

the fluid isnt a problem its the drain plug so i can put a magnetic one there.

I went ahead and ordered 2 m18 x 1.5 magnetic plugs and ill see when i change the oild i think

well it turns out my mini still has a maintenance program

so its getting free oil change air filter spark plugs and brake fluid exchange.

which is nice. but nothing different for the transmission at all they dont even sell this service

edit they do sell it for 164
