Borbet Type A wheels

https://www.gumtree.com/p/wheel-rims-tyres/16-genuine-wheels-alloys-borbet-a-pcd-5x112-width-j7-5-j9-vw-merc-audi-skoda-etc-pcd../1167523523

Do these rears have too much offset? Bolt is 5x112 wondering if they'll fit...?

Way off
front 16' ET-20 width J7,5
rear 16' ET-15 width J9

You're looking for a positive offset of around 45 on an 8" wide wheel, 40 at a minimum. Those are negative offset wheels.
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoWheelOffsets.do

And 9" wheels won't fit in the rear without some significant poke :(

There are Type A's that would fit for sure, just not that set.

Couldn't find it because it was in general threads not 3rd Gen forums. I also didn't know what the exact numbers meant on the listing in terms of offset. Appreciative of the fast and knowledgeable reply from the other user. You on the other hand can stop replying to my threads if you don't have anything useful to say.

This was a stab at the admin, not you. The fitment thread used to be right here where every third gen owner could see it. Admin decided to move it to general which is my entire point.

P.S. I have gone as far as facetiming my setup in realtime with complete strangers on this forum to discuss and help with their fitment concerns. If you don't find answers you're looking for i will go out of my way to help you.

P.P.S. You could fit a 9" rear wheel without significant poke if, and big if, you get the right offset. The front not so much.

Oh ok misunderstood you sorry about that. Thanks that's awesome I respect that a ton. Yeah the offset stuff is confusing to me but I'm learning. I didn't realize there were negative offsets too ie these borbets. I really want this style of wheel but it seems like it's nearly impossible to find. Any recommendations on a style similar to it? Something with very wide spokes...

no worries man, the first thing that comes to mind that I've always been in love with is O.Z. Futuras and they can be found in fitments that would work but sadly they ain't cheap. Is 16" your preference? it will probably be easier to source 17's.

I was thinking about moving down from 17 to 16, thought process was more rubber, better handling (correct me if im wrong) Let me check those out. What do you think about these? I only see them in 18" however.

Im moving away from the run flats so I figured It would be a good time to get new wheels

the ride will be less harsh once you ditch the runflats but probably about the same feel if you move to an 18". I personally think 17's are the perfect size for this chasis. Those wheels look good but I can't vouch for that brand (or lack thereof). I was thinking something like this might be better:

http://fifteen52.com/collections/cas...copy-of-tarmac

and full disclaimer heavier wheels hurts performance. If you don't mind sacrificing a little performance for style then go for it.

these would flat out not work up front. the COULD work in the rear but you would have a bit of that excessive poke. With some negative camber and a stretched tire it might not rub the inner plastic fender but I'm betting it still would

A good looking wheel that is light, and fits well is the Koenig Oversteer. They look nice and won't break the bank. 17X8 et45. I'm running them at the moment, but will be changing to NM RSe05 to clear the JCW brakes I have on order. Admittedly not wide spokes. Just another option for you to consider.

Yes, but it would be cheaper for you to buy from a dealer than from me and pay shipping. The place I bought mine included hub-centric rings and tuner style lug bolts along with free shipping.
I ordered mine from Discount Tire Direct. I think the whole setup, minus TPMS and tires was around $550.

Those specs are nearly identical to the first set I tried. They fit great in the rear but the front, not so much:

On lowering springs:

On coilovers:

Once we get camber plate options I think you could make an 8" wide et 35 wheel work a lot easier. If you don't mind a little poke they're fine, basically. I don't know about buying wheels that literally don't have a brand though, lol. Even cheap replicas at least have some sort of brand.
