F55/F56 Door lock question
Door lock question
Is there a way to make the car unlock all doors when I turn the engine off and get out of the car?
Also, if I press the engine stop switch once, will it eventually turn the electricity off completely?
Thanks in advance.

Basically, it means using a couple of pieces of software (E-sys and PSdZDATA) along with a special ethernet cable (OBD2 ENET for F-series) to access the car's various Electronic Control Units. Once you can communicate with it, you can make changes to the behavior such as the things you mentioned as well as add features. No they won't do it if you ask. You have to do it yourself, the impression I get is that you'd better know what you're doing too. I just don't make my car lock the doors when I start it up. Then I don't have to unlock 'em.
1) as long as you follow the instructions, it's very hard to ***** up.
2) instructions are confusing the first time. after that, it's much faster/easier
3) typically you do a backup of your entire car so that if you do something stupid, you can upload the backup and it will revert all settings back.

I can think of two options if you want to hire out. 1) Find a local coder. Bimmerfest has a whole section on local coding 2) Hire someone to do it remotely like the http://www.bmwesys.com/guides/ (see Beginners Guide Coding link) or codemycar.com
Another option might be at the BMW or Mini events.
With an experienced person, the chance of screwing up is unlikely as these are tweaks to the existing software and they know how to navigate around the E-sys software.

Usually at events like MOTD there will be a couple of vendors that offer a menu of coding options. I had Helix do the coding on my R56 a couple of years ago and I'm gonna have them do my F56 this year.
This is a basic list of coding they offer for the F56. There are others available too. It's a PDF file so it will take a moment to load.
